The Berlinale Film Festival is in February, the Museumsinsel Festival is held from May to September, Christopher Street Day is in June, the "Love Parade" is in July, the Berlin Gauklerfest is in August and the Popdeurope Festival and the Berlin Philharmonic Foundation Music Festival are in September. Art Forum Berlin is in the beginning of October which leads into the festive pre-Christmas season. Something for every taste!
There is a lot to discover on the outskirts of Berlin. Just a few kilometers away: Potsdam and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Or take the tram to the historic old town and Sanssouci, just 30 minutes from the city center. Go on an excursion to one of the countless lakes and forests, old towns and idyllic villages nearby. Berlin’s excellent infrastructure makes it easy to take day trips or weekend trips. Venture out to the sea (Warnemünde / Baltic Sea), take a short trip to Hamburg or spend a weekend in Dresden.
